I had Such a Lovely night tonight on 98.7Kiss FM with Lenny Green. He is one of my top favorite Radio Jocks to tune into. Everyone who knows me Knows I’m a R&B/Soul music type of girl. So being a special guest on “Kissing After Dark” was a Perfect fit for Me! Also the actor Lamman Rucker sat in, while we spoke on Relationship&Love. Everyone had a great time together.

Nikki’s Beauty Tips

So we all have spent a huge amount of money on beauty products that say they can speed up our metabolism, get rid of cellulite, give us that flawless Glowing skin; along with hair products that claim to rid build up, restore moisture and shine. Oh, and let me not forget to mention the really expensive Teeth whitening products! All this $$$ and you still don’t feel like anything has work? Yeah, Me too.
Well, that’s when I went into my “at home remedies” kick!
I discovered so many natural ways to help with a lot of these issues I found myself were having.

After a few months of research I found what really works for Me.
So I decided, why not share them with all of you!

For Starters, the way you look on the outside has a whole lot to do with what is going on inside.
Eating healthy, staying hydrated with the proper amount of water, working out as well as getting the right amount of sleep your body requires to produce your productive lifestyle really does contribute to your skin, hair and Glow!

When you feel good inside, You look GREAT on the outside! That, Inner beauty GLOWS!

But still, it does require some help.
So here are some remedies that have been working for me!

Metabolism Booster:
Before I eat anything in the morning, I drink a glass/bottle* of water to kick start my digesting process.
I go about my day, my usual healthy breakfast & lunch choices…. I’m very active, but come dinner is usually when we tend to unwind&settle in. Sitting watching tv or the worst laying down going right to bed after dinner is a TERRIBLE mistake. In the end Your not getting the proper rest needed since your body is working while your in that sleep state trying to break down and digest your food.

So here’s a tip!
After dinner go for a brisk walk. And if that’s not an option try some deep yoga like stretching for at least 10mins. This way your helping boost up the break down process it takes to digest that food before bed time.
Try and avoid eating right before your bedtime is really the key. I know, sometimes our schedules can kill us so we may not have that luxury of an option. Keep in mind the goal at hand.

*Bottle water Tip*
adding 1 tsp of sea salt to your bottle water, acts as a NATURAL cleanser.

-Now for those cellulite prone areas-
try this out

Goodbye CELLY:
1/2 cup ground coffee
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
Mix together in small bowl
apply to your problem area
wrap the area up with plastic wrap
let it sit for 10mins
Rinse off
This WORKS wonders!
Repeat as often as needed

-Lets Get your Hair right-

Hair Tip:
Adding a small amount of baking soda to your shampoo
will help clean out dirt&product build up.
Try this once a week, you’ll see results instantly.
This is also great for those who suffer from oily hair.

Now, to work on those split ends, Olive Oil.
You will soon learn that olive oil is our best friend!
Applying it to the ends of your hair and allowing it
to sit over night helps to repair split ends as well as restoring shine.

-Ok Lets clean up your skin-

Flawless Skin:
Mix non-coated Aspirin with 6oz fresh squeeze lemon juice (let stand until aspirin has dissolve)
apply to clean skin
set for 5-10 mins (depending on skin sensitivity)

Remove with this wash mix:
1tbsp of baking soda & 2tbsp of water
use cotton pad to apply wash to skin
ALWAYS PAT DRY!

Try this 2x a week & you’ll see results in no time.

-Honey is a Great spot&blemish treater.
After cleansing skin. Apply a layer of honey to the damaged areas
set for about 15mins
remove with warm water&soft cloth
This too works wonders!

-applying a thin layer of vaseline around the eyes helps keep moisture locked in while getting your beauty sleep. The best part, this also helps prevent crows feet aka ugly eye wrinkles.

Using a low in chemicals, no perfume added moisturizer also keeps the skin condition, also helping to prevent wrinkles.

Try out “Ponds” dry skin cream. (blue cap)
This product can be easily purchased at your local drug store
( i.e. CVS, ABC, Walgreens, Rite Aid & etc. )

Clean skin before bedtime is Very important for the flawless skin goal!

NOW for that Bright smile!

Natural Teeth Whitener:
“again with the baking soda” :D
Brushing with baking soda once a week
helps rid of stains and restores the white&shine in your teeth!
Rubbing strawberries into your teeth acts as a natural exfoliant
which helps prevent staining as well.

So there you have it! My ALL natural beauty secrets!

So I was given the Best BDAY gift EVER!! Tickets to see my All Time Favorite PRINCE!! & at Madison Square Garden in NYC!! It was a Great Memorable Moment in my Life I must say!!
Prince sang all his Hit’s from “Beautiful Ones” “Purple Rain” “If I was your Girlfriend!” just to name a few!
He closed out with “Jungle Love” It was an Awesome Show!

I just finished responding to my well over due “Fan” mail. It’s an Early Saturday Morning here in NYC, very cold out but I think after reading so many warm hearted and supporting letters as well as the “Dear Nikki” letters, I feel warm all over like a Summer’s Morning. Thank You!
&Thank You, to those who wrote just to show their support. I hope my response brought on the same smiles your letters gave Me.
I hope my input and advise helps out for the good for those of you who wrote in “Dear Nikki” letters.

Update on “Ask Nikki” Letters

Hey Lovers,
Remember when I posted about writing “Ask Nikki” letters and I would answer. Well, I have been doing so, but what I have come to find is that a lot of my letters come from woman inquiring about my body and what I do to maintain my shape. So since I find this to be very common I thought I’d share.

Here’s one of the letters….

Hi Nikki B! I first want to say I think you are soo Beautiful, definitely my role model :)
I had a question regarding your amazing body. I was wondering how you stay in top shape? I feel I have potential to have such a great body but
I’m not to sure what work outs or diets to start with. I would appreciate any tips or advice you can give. Oh and I noticed you have Beach Body Insanity Ad on your page I was wondering if you recommend that? I have it, but I just need to stay dedicated really.

Hi “Luz”
I will start with answering your questions about me staying in shape. I’m not gonna sit here and lie by saying I work out everyday as well as having a strict diet because I do not!
Although I should.
So far I have found something that works for me.
Mon-Thurs I stay away from junk foods & fast foods as much as I possibly can. I do my own cooking to have a better control in what I am taking in. I eat almost no carbs those four days and stay very active.
I drink lots of water and fresh squeeze fruit &veggie juices.
I’ve never been into soda or coffee but if you are, cut that out of your diet right away!

When dieting and working out I really believe it’s mind over matter. If you want it, you will obtain it.

So Ask yourself: How bad do I want my “potential body” that you inquired about.

Now, as for the weekends, I don’t get crazy with the junk food, but if I want to indulge in my favorite ice creams or order take out, I do. Don’t for get to keep portion control durning this time as well.

Drinking Alcohol is very unhealthy when your trying to diet. So I try to save that for the weekend adventures as well.
Now, when it comes to working out, I do 45 mins ‘minimum’ of cardio to burn fat as well as using 5 &10 lb. dumb bells for toning up the arms. I practice lunges, squats and run stairs for legs and booty maintenance. I also take occasional hot yoga classes that help with the leaning out process as well.
It’s also Very healthy for you body by the way.

At the end of the day, I feel genetics play a big role in your body structure. So be aware of that .
But it’s YOUR body! So how well you love it and maintain what you put into it will be your end results.

Now as far as the Beach Body Insanity program goes; That indeed does give a really great at home work out to start with if you can’t afford a personal trainer, or do not have a gym membership and so on.

Make No excuses!! … Just Do It!
It’s apart of self love!
